Firefighter Training

Weekly Training

Each week North Syracuse Fire Department provides training to it's members. This training is completed Tuesdays at  9:00 am and again in the evening at 7:00 pm. Firefighter triaining is both classroom and hands on training.   

To ensure firefighter safety, our trianing provides the firefighter with the knowlege, tools, and equipment to operate safely on a fireground. Some of the required training include OSHA and FEMA training. 

In addition to the weekly training our firefighters are encouraged to take New York State Training courses that certifies them in:

• Hazardour Materials Operations 
• Hazardous Materials Technician 
• Water Rescue
• Rope Rescue
• First Aid 
• CPR
• EMS First Responder
• Emergency Medical Technician
• Paramedic 
• and much more.

FIRE TRAINING FACILITY 

North Syracuse Fire Department is a contributing agency to the Town of Clay Fire Training Center.  

This facility allows the members of the North Syracuse Fire Department to gain the expierence of live fire conditions in a controlled training enviornment. 

McNeil & Company Online Training

North Syracuse Fire also offers a myrid of free online traing courses from McNeil & Company. Memebers can learn any time at their pace, and get certificates for completing additional training.
