North Syracuse Fireman's Associaton

2019 Annual Fund Drive is going on now!

Dear Neighbors,

The men and women of the North Syracuse Volunteer Fire Department cannot thank our community enough for the out pouring of support we received in 2018. Thanks to the generosity of our community (as well as other fund raising activity) we were able to purchase a turnout gear extractor which allows our members to thoroughly wash and decontaminate their firefighting gear. This is a major step forward in preventing firefighting related cancer.

The members of the North Syracuse Volunteer Fire Department were so appreciative of the support we received, it felt only right to lend our support in the fight against cancer as well. Our members were very proud to sponsor and support the American Cancer Society “Relay for Life” at the North Syracuse Junior High School in June. Our members raised money, walked the track, and provided a thirteen hour fire and EMS duty crew.

In 2018, the men and women of the North Syracuse Volunteer Fire Department continue to look for ways to give back and better serve our community. One of our main goals as your community fire department is to increase the ways we can get information out to the residents we serve.

We have extended our online presence in several ways:
1) Visit our website at www.northsyracusefire.com
2) Like us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/NorthSyracuseFireDepartment)
3) We have joined “Nextdoor.com” as a community organization
4) Follow us on twitter @NSyracusFD

However, we understand that we serve a very diverse community with a wide range of technological knowledge. We strive to be able to get information out regarding events, news, and especially emergency situations to as many members of our community, as quickly as possible.

The current information center in front of our main station on Chestnut Street has served us well for many years. However, the amount of information we can provide is very limited. Our upstate climate has taken its toll. The process for changing the current information center is lengthy especially in inclement weather.

With all of that in mind, we are again reaching out to our community for support. We are continuously making upgrades to our station in order to serve you better. In 2018, our goal is to fund raise and upgrade our station information center to a new LED display. The new LED display will allow us to broadcast more information, at a moment’s notice, from anywhere. These signs have been largely successful with many of our surrounding departments and municipalities, for example the Mattydale Fire Department and our very own Village of North Syracuse Parks Department.
