North Syracuse Fire Department is asking residents to keep fire hydrants near your home clear of snow, ice & debris for easy fire department access.

Every second counts when a home is on fire.  When a fire hydrant cannot be seen or is buried in snow the Fire Department has to spend valuable time locating the fire hydrant. Once located, the Fire Department needs to unbury the hydrant by shoveling the snow that has accumulated around and above the hydrant.

Help us today by locating your fire hydrant and clearing 3 feet all the way around it. This could save a life and make all the difference when seconds count.
